INDIANAPOLIS -- Camille Herron (Alamosa, Colorado) set a world best for the women’s 24 Hour run to earn USATF Athlete of the Week.
Herron, who in 2015 won the IAU 50K and 100K world titles, covered 270.116 kilometers at Albi, France, to win the women’s world championship by more than 15km and lead Team USATF to the women’s team trophy by 25km over runners-up Poland. She set the previous world best of 262.193km at Phoenix last year. Herron also holds IAU world bests for 100 miles and for the 12-hour run.
