INDIANAPOLIS -- Miranda Melville (Chula Vista, California) won the women’s title at the USATF Indoor 5K Race Walk Championships to earn USATF Athlete of the Week. Melville, a 2016 Olympian and three-time World Championships Team USATF member in the 20K walk, clocked 22:37.90 over the 25-lap race at Rochester, New York, on Dec. 29 to win the women’s race by more than three minutes and place third overall in the mixed competition. Her en route 3,000m time of 13:30.47 also qualified her for the USATF Indoor Championships at Albuquerque on Feb. 14-15. Full results are here. Other notable performances from the past week:
