Update on the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and COVID-19
Below is a statement from TrackTown USA CEO Michael Reilly regarding the impact of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on preparations for hosting the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field:
“We take the safety and security of those participating in and attending our events very seriously. The Public Safety Committee for our Local Organizing Committee is comprised of experts from relevant government agencies at the city, county, state, and federal levels.
As part of their normal protocol, they are closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19. Based on the information and policy guidance provided to us by these entities, as well as conversations with our partners at USA Track & Field and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, the 2020 Olympic Trials is proceeding as planned. We will continue to monitor the situation with these organizations.
However, due to the rapidly changing nature of the situation, I wanted to share the following updates.
We are postponing the release of additional ticket inventory that was scheduled for March 16.
We are communicating regularly with public safety professionals and our partners at USATF and the USOPC.
Should the event be canceled, our policy will be to refund customers who have purchased tickets.
Updates will continue to be posted to
TrackTown20.com
and
USATF.org
as the situation develops. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to protect the safety and health of everyone involved in the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field.”
