INDIANAPOLIS -- Improving on his own world-leading mark in the 100m, Trayvon Bromell (St. Petersburg, Florida) earned recognition as the 21st USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2021. It is his second time this year to be honored. Bromell, the 60m World Indoor champion in 2016 and an Olympian in the 100m at Rio that year, zipped to a 9.77 to win the NACAC New Life Invitational at Miramar, Florida, moving to No. 4 on the all-time U.S. performer list. His time also puts him seventh on the all-time world performer list and equals the seventh-fastest U.S. performance ever. Bromell was already atop the world list for 2021 with a 9.88 on April 30 at Jacksonville. More top performances from the past week:
