Staten Island, New York — The second day of competition at the USATF National Youth Indoor Championships saw the Black Lightning Track Club grab three of the six girls 55m and 200m titles, winning the 8-and-under, 9-10 and 13-14 division. Mila Woodforde ran a personal best in the 200m; Jasmine Wilson PR’d in the 55m final and Justine Wilson ran two PRs in the 55m to claim titles in their respective age divisions. In the boys 17-18 division, Tarik O’Hagan (Ocean State Hammerheads) launched three 20-meter throws to capture the shot put championship with his best throw of 20.41m/66-11.5. He also threw 25.81m/84-8.25 on his last attempt to win the weight throw. O’Hagan is headed to Ole Miss for his collegiate career in the fall. In the girls 8-and-under shot put, Jada Magnuson (USATF Maine/Unattached) launched a 4.22m/13-10.25 to win her championship and improve her next-best throw of 3.35m by nearly a meter. She finished third in the long jump. On the boys side, Rhoan Khaulder II (Maximum Velocity) claimed victories in the 13-14 division 55m, 200m and Long Jump. Ocean Breeze Wave Runners won the 8-and-under, as well as the 11-12 Girls Long jump with Clevecia McPherson and Yvonne Maira taking home first place medals.
