MUSCAT, Oman — Stephanie Casey (Reedsport, Oregon) and Bricyn Healey (Galesburg, Illinois) highlighted the second day of competition as the top Team USATF finishers at the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships on a humid morning in Muscat, Oman. Healey and Dan Nehnevaj (Vancouver, Washington) were nearly side by side through the first 10 km of the men’s 35 km race. Nehnevaj made his move and began to pull away around the 11 km mark, moving up 12 places over the next 15 km. Healey steadily caught up and passed Nehnevaj, walking a personal best of 3:03:30 for 44th in the men’s 35 km. Nehnevaj was close behind in 45th with a 3:06:37. Stephanie Casey was Team USATF’s top finisher of the day, placing 26th in a tough field for the 35 km women’s race walk. Casey started strong and remained consistent, covering the distance in 3:23:10. Team USATF’s youngest walkers of the day, 19-year-old Samuel Allen (Spring Lake, New Jersey) and 22-year-old Jordan Crawford (Douglasville, Georgia) walked together to 47th and 48th place finishes in the 20 km men’s race. Allen was the first of the duo to cross the finish line with a 1:39:07 with Crawford on his heels in 1:39:15. A full list of results can be found here.
