INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — Two-time Olympic gold medalist Roger Kingdom has been selected for induction into the USOPC Hall of Fame in the Legend category. Established in 1979, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Hall of Fame celebrates the achievements of Team USA’s best athletes, as well as the impact of legendary coaches and special contributors. Since the first hall of fame class in 1983, almost 150 individuals and teams have been honored for their contributions to the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic history. Kingdom won gold medals in the 110m hurdles at Los Angeles in 1984 and Seoul in 1988 and was the world record holder from 1989-93, with a lifetime best of 12.93 seconds. He was a five-time U.S. outdoor champion in the 110H and won World Indoor gold in the 60H in 1989. The U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame Nominating Committee narrowed down the field of six nominees to two Legend inductees, to be inducted on Friday, June 24, during a ceremony at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
