LaVonna Martin Floreal is a two-time United States Olympian who had a successful career as one of our country’s best 100-meter hurdlers. She competed for the United States in the 1992 Summer Olympics held in Barcelona, Spain, in the 100-meter hurdles and won the silver medal. She also competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, reaching the semi-finals. She won a silver medal at the World Indoor Championships in 1993 and a gold medal at the 1987 Pan American Games. In addition, Mrs. Floreal was a 14-time All-American and 4-time NCAA champion while attending the University of Tennessee. She has served USATF as a member of the Executive Committee for Women’s Track and Field, Women’s Hurdle Representative for Women’s Development Committee, and a previous member of the Executive Committee of the Women’s Commission.
